Ameenah Gurib-Fakim has been the Managing Director of the Centre International de Développement Pharmaceutique (CIDP) Research and Innovation as well as Professor of Organic Chemistry with an endowed chair at the University of Mauritius. Since 2001, she has served successively as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Pro Vice Chancellor (2004- 2010). She has also worked at the Mauritius Research Council as Manager for Research (1995-1997).
Ms Gurib-Fakim earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Surrey (1983) and a PhD from the University of Exeter, UK (1987).
As a Founding Member of the Pan African Association of African Medicinal Plants, she co-authored the first ever African Herbal Pharmacopoeia. She has authored and co-edited 30 books, several book chapters and scientific articles in the field of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Elected Fellow of several academies and societies, Ms Gurib-Fakim received several international prizes including the 2007 l’Oreal-UNESCO Prize for Women in Science, the African Union Commission Award for Women in Science, 2009.
On 05 June 2015, she was sworn in as the 6th President and the First Female President of the Republic of Mauritius and served in that capacity until March 2018. She was elevated to the Order of GCSK by the Government of Mauritius, and received the Legion d’Honneur from the Government of France in 2016. In 2017, she received both the lifelong achievement award of the United States Pharmacopoeia-CePat Award and the American Botanical Council Norman Farnsworth Excellence in Botanical Research Award. In 2018, she received the Order of St George at the Semperopernball, Dresden, Germany. In 2019, she received the ‘Trailblazing award for political leadership’ by the World Women Leaders Council in Iceland. In 2020, she was elected Honorary President of the International and Engineering Institute and received their 2020 5th IETI Annual Scientific Award. She also received the IAS-COMSTECH Ibrahim Memorial Award from the WIAS in Jordan. In 2021, she received the Benazir Bhutto Lifetime Achievement Award and the Obada Prize. In 2021, she has been appointed as Distinguished Professor at the John Wesley School of Leadership, Carolina University, USA. In June 2016, she was in the Forbes List for the 100 ‘Most Powerful women in the world’ and 1st among the Top 100 Women in Africa Forbes List 2017, 2019. She is honoured as one of Foreign Policy’s 2015 Global Thinkers.

Mirco Egloff, co-founder of circular economy startup loopi AG, could never just sit in an office and work a regular 9 to 5 job. He thinks too much and hates inefficiency. Passionate about the environment and concerned about climate relevant topics he decided to pursue a masters degree in energy and environmental engineering. He specialized in new business models, innovation management and circular economy. In march 2021 he officially founded loopi AG together with four other co-founders with complementary skills. After a successful crowdfunding in Mai Mirco now plans to enter the market with loopi early 2022 with the mission to move the families of today and tomorrow.

Mr Laurence Li, SC is the Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). Karl-Henrik Sundström is member of the board of Mölnlycke, Vestas, AhlströmMunksjö, Boliden and NXP, chairman of CLC, TrackLib, Baffin Bay Networks and chairman of the tax delegation for Swedish Business and Commerce and member of the board of the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. Mr Sundström was CEO of Stora Enso 2014-2019. He joined Stora Enso in August 2012 as CFO and member of the Group Leadership Team. In June 2013 he took on the role as Executive Vice President for division Paper and Wood Products. Prior to joining Stora Enso, Mr. Sundström held the role as CFO of NXP Semiconductors 2008–2012. Before that, he held several managerial positions in Ericsson, including CFO.
December 2019 Karl-Henrik Sundström was awarded the decoration of Commander, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland, by the President of Finland for long-term work benefiting Finnish interests.
Prachi Shevgaonkar is a Media Professional, Communicator and the founder of Cool The Globe – An app and a movement for climate action. Prachi has helped several sustainable initiatives & businesses craft a communication strategy. She has been mobilizing global citizens to fight climate change through technology, innovation and grassroot action.

Tim has a strong passion for impact-driven entrepreneurship. He financed his studies by building a franchise network of student-run kiosks teaching teenagers entrepreneurship and business.
Dr. Christin ter Braak-Forstinger, LL.M. is the co-founder and CEO of Chi Impact Capital an independent and female powered Impact Fund Advisor based in Zurich/Switzerland. Christin is passionate about pro-actively making the shift towards a regenerative and deep impact economy a reality. Christin has a long-standing experience and a 15 year+ track record in the financial services sector, private equity, impact investing and sustainable investing; She completed her Doctoral Thesis at Harvard Law School (summa cum laude) and her Master Studies at Duke Law School; Christin has published numerous peer reviewed articles in the field of impact investing, authored and co-authored several books the latest of which is “Conscious Investing”; Christin is a lecturer at various universities on impact investing and a key-note speaker; Privately, Christin is the co-founder and president of award winning NGO Braveaurora, active in North Ghana since 2009.

Els Boerhof is an investment professional with 20+ years of international experience in development finance and emerging markets investments. As a partner and co-owner of Goodwell she has led the firm’s launch in Africa and she is the managing partner for the West-Africa and the uMunthu equity funds. She is also a member of the IC and board of Goodwell’s microfinance equity fund in India. Furthermore, Mrs. Boerhof is a member of the board of Goodwell portfolio company Musoni Services in Amsterdam and board member of Credit Access India, as representative of the Asian Development Bank. Previous to her Fund Manager position at the Dutch Development Bank FMO, Mrs. Boerhof worked for MeesPierson in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Johannesburg in International Trade & Commodity Finance.
Johan Frössling is Born 1963 in Gothenburg, Sweden and lives in Gothenburg area with his lovely wife, children and grand children. Commutes normally between Gothenburg, London and Johannesburg. Johan holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University in Gothenburg. Following a solid career within the petrochemicals industry (Borealis Group), he founded Confidere in 2005. Combining experiences from Borealis and as consultant in Confidere, he has decades of Project Governance Experience in various major industries in Europe & Africa, mainly within energy and other infrastructure projects, e.g. bio-energy and nuclear. In 2017, he founded Dynamis Investment Partners. He is fully convinced that sustainable good business can combine well with sustainable good lives for millions. Johan’s speciality is Energy Infrastructure Investments.

Ville Korpela is a professional futurist and impact strategist. He is a Founding Partner of Impact Innovation Institute and a Senior Faculty Member at Dubai Future Academy. Ville has worked extensively with emerging markets, previously he has been Head of European Operations at Vunani Capital (South Africa) and Business Development Director at Christofi Group (Cyprus). Ville started his professional career at a Finnish public affairs consultancy Eurofacts and later with Ernst & Young and the leading Russian investment bank Renaissance Capital in Moscow, as part of their corporate finance and M&A teams. Currenty, Ville resides in Dubai.
Ville is a member of several World Economic Forum projects, such as the Nature Action Agenda, Inclusivity Quotient, African Growth Platform and Global Plastic Action Partnership. Ville is passionate about impact investing, systems thinking and social entrepreneurship. In his spare time Ville likes to travel, write poetry and listen to the Blues.
Petri Kuusisto has 30+ years of direct CIO experience from 2 largest pension funds in Finland (Eur 40+ bn) and a Sovereign Wealth Fund in Middle East.
During last 10+ years he has been a serial entrepreneur/investor having among other things launched and sold 2 asset management companies, one being the first global timberland management company. He has also acted as a consultant for several institutional investors on investment strategy and financing issues.
Recently he co-founded Impact Innovation Institute, a for benefit research and advisory think tank. He is currently writing series of academic articles on Impact Investing and has coined the term Sustainable Portfolio Theory, a needed extension to Modern Portfolio Theory and current Strategic Asset Allocation thinking. His ongoing action research is focusing on Blended Finance.
